Edisto License to Chill is a hidden treasure in Edisto Beach,
South Carolina

SSHHHH! It's a secret!

Come in and be yourself... or a Parrot Head... or a Pirate.
 Whatever suits you best.

Book a visit at my self-managed home in Edisto.  Pets are encouraged on your family vacation. Spend a relaxing week at your home away from home being hosted by the self-proclaimed "Queen of Southern Hospitality". Not much to do here but rest, eat, sun, explore, experience the Low Country, and sleep. Immerse yourself and your children in the offerings here such as the Edisto Mermaid, the Serpentarium, Turtle and shell excursions, Fishing, and appreciation of the Botany Bay and the wildlife the Island has to offer.

Edisto offers a rich history in Gullah culture, past civilizations, Native Indians, and the most pet-friendly island on the East Coast.

Edisto Beach is a quiet, laid-back, vacation place where families have made memories for years.

Come stay awhile!

YOUR
EDISTO
LICENSE TO CHILL

Hi and Welcome to my Happy Place: I am your Southern Host and a lifelong Parrot Head and beach-dog-loving homeowner. Owning on Edisto was a life-long dream of mine having visited Edisto for some 40 plus years and saving for the day I could have a home of my own here.

Although residents would tell you how much the Island has changed, Edisto still presents as the quiet beach town I have always loved. No redlight, no high rises, dog friendly beaches, no food chains, and 1 grocery store. Lots of wildlife and places to explore. Deemed the 3rd quirkiest town in South Carolina: (https://www.worldatlas.com/cities/6-of-the-quirkiest-towns-in-south-carolina)

Formerly "The Big Honey-Do", the laid back feel I wanted to evoke was coined in one of Jimmy Buffet's songs, "License to Chill", thus Edisto License to Chill was christened Jan 1 2023.
So FINS UP as you cross the Causeway and smell the salt and pluff mud.  Enjoy your stay.

Meet Your Host

So please, Come in and Be Yourself. Make memories. And enjoy everything Edisto has to offer. I appreciate you loving my vacation home as much as I do. My only request is to please treat my home with the same kindness and respect you would your own home.

More About This Home.

This home was built in 1996 and the original family left many memories here. A second set of owners obtained the home, formerly known as "The Big Honey Do" and enjoyed many years coming to Edisto. The house to the left, Big Oak Landing is the sister house to the former "Big Honey Do". This home is managed by VACASA https://www.vacasa.com/unit/52897

You will find remnants of old families and new families in the Graffiti Bathroom downstairs. Politically correct additions are encouraged to document your stay.

My home has been enhanced with all local GA and SC artist's work. Most of the art has been gifted or purchased from local galleries on Edisto.  If you would like information on sources, I am happy to share their talent.

Goals for additions for 2024-2025:
  • Outside LIFT installation
  • Hurricane proof windows
  • Fresh coat of paint
